We are a group of Washington residents who felt the need to bring our community together and provide facilities for both residents and visitors to our  village and the South Downs. We came up with the idea of a community tea room run by the community for the community. Having watched the BBC series with Sarah Beeny and Village SOS we decided to apply to Village SOS and the Big Lottery Fund for a grant to set up the tea room. We have been successful in our bid and the grant has been used to renovate the kitchen in the old village hall and set up a tea room in the hall itself.We are now open at the weekends and bank holidays and run events throughout the year. All profits will be reinvested in the community.
